2008' 3rd Annual Chicks Beach Martini Classic Saturday May 24th
The Judges have been chosen & contacted.
The 3rd Annual Chicks Beach Martini Classic is ready for Saturday May 24th.
Restaurants to be judged are Green Parrot Grille, HK on the Bay and Alexander’s on the Bay.

Memorial Day Deck Party Sunday May 25th at Alexander's on the Bay with Live Entertainment by "Almost Famous Band"
festivities start at 7:30pm. No reservations will be taken for the Deck tables however, you may still inquire about an indoor table by calling (757) 464-4999
This is a time honored tradition at Chicks Beach to kick off the Summer on the Deck of Alexander's right on the beach of Chicks Beach overlooking the Chesapeake Bay and Bridge Tunnel.

“The Proof is in the Puddin…”
Back on May 5th 2008 the “Producer” writes an article for his blog section and mentioned a little known (To this are) name Tab Benoit. Yesterday May 22nd the Virginian Pilot has a big write up on him performing locally at the Jewish Mother (Jew Moms) this Saturday night May 24th. Thursday was the perfect day to play around and not get really much done. Went down and check the beach to see how much there was and if anyone else was playing hooky enjoying the day. There were a few people taking advantage of the day. This fella was walking his dogs like a few others spotted taking in the day.
After some time enjoying a Burger and Happy Hour at the Green parrot I was headed to HK on the Bay. For a Thursday they had quite a crowd. The clouds started moving in about this time.
Some familiar faces, the Mayor Beetle and a long time friend enjoying a “Favorite Beverage” at HK on the Bay.
The bar staff at HK on the Bay is always smiling and ready to serve up the best of whatever you order. It was mentioned that a Chicks Beach Calendar should be created featuring the wait staff at the local restaurants. I think I’ll do that this year.
Guests at the “Captains Table” throw down on some crab legs. The table was kept piled high with steaming crab legs the entire meal.

Guests enjoy the outdoor patio dining area on a nice day at HK on the Bay.
A little food humor… and another Happy hour to take advantage of.
Every detail is paid attention to while your at HK. Even the owner can be seen daily making personal visits to guests making sure they are enjoying their meals, service and “Favorite Beverages”.
Many friends and locals enjoy their ‘Favorite Beverage” at the bar side of HK on the Bay. It’s always interesting to meet with friends and have a cold one after a long day of playing hooky.
Off to Alexander’s on the Bay for desert. I found the bar was filled. I had to wait for a while to get a seat. But the wait was worth it. Perfect scenery of the bay bridge tunnel as the light dimmed from the clouds moving in.
Some of the best seats in the house. Everyone enjoyed the scenery, food and impeccable service from the bartender Valerie.
And the reason I showed up, a wonderful desert made from scratch and fresh strawberries. The day ended nicely and Jackson was content in the truck all day. He didn’t even feel like running the beach. He just wanted the truck to go so he could feel the wind blowing against him as we headed home.
